Super Matcha Latte

Matcha latte’s are a staple in my house. My favourite thing about matcha is that it contains an amino-acid called L-Theanine that helps in promoting mental relaxation. It also promotes mental clarity which helps to create a more alert state of mind. It does have some caffeine but much less than coffee making it an excellent substitute.

  • ½ tsp. matcha powder (I use Soar Organics)

  • ½ cup water

  • ½ - 1 cup coconut milk (can use almond)

  • 1 scoop collagen peptides (I use Vital Proteins)

  • 1 tbsp. grass-fed organic butter or coconut butter

  • 1 tsp. MCT oil (I use Bulletproof Brain Octane)

  • ½ - 1 tbsp. raw honey or pure maple syrup

  1. Add matcha powder to a small bowl.

  2. Boil water. As the water is heating up, pour a little bit (about 2 tbsp.) into the bowl with the matcha powder and whisk with a fork until you get an espresso like consistency. Then, put the pot back on the stove and wait for it to boil.

  3. In the meantime, in a small saucepan, warm up coconut milk or almond milk.

  4. In your blender, add in the whisked matcha powder, coconut, milk and all other ingredients, except for the collagen.

  5. Blend until smooth and then add the collagen and blend for another 10-20 seconds. It’s best to add the collagen at the end so that you do not denature the quality of the collagen.
